The New Braunfels Jaycees

Building stronger communities through service and leadership.

The New Braunfels Jaycees are a leadership development organization for young professionals dedicated to creating positive change in our community. Through events like the Beer Run, we raise funds to support local nonprofits and community initiatives.

Since 2017, we've donated over $195,000 to New Braunfels nonprofits.

About the Beer Run

The 0.5K Beer Run is our most popular annual fundraiser, combining fitness, fun, and philanthropy. Participants tackle a half-kilometer course filled with laughter, camaraderie, and of course, beer!

What is the 0.5K Beer Run?
The 0.5K Beer Run is a fun, half-kilometer "race" hosted by the New Braunfels Jaycees. It's a lighthearted event that combines a very short run/walk with beer, entertainment, and community spirit—all while raising money for local nonprofits. Think of it as the perfect excuse to enjoy some exercise, great beer, and community fun without the commitment of a full 5K!
When and where is the event?
The 11th Annual 0.5K Beer Run will be held on March 7, 2026 at Wurstfest located at 120 Landa Street, New Braunfels, Texas 78130. 
Do I have to be a runner to participate?
Not at all! The 0.5K is designed for everyone, regardless of fitness level. You can run, walk, skip, or dance your way through the course. It's all about having fun and supporting the community. Many participants choose to stroll the course with friends while enjoying the festive atmosphere!
Is this event family-friendly?
Yes! While the event features beer for adults 21+, the atmosphere is family-friendly and all ages are welcome to participate in the run/walk portion. We have activities and entertainment suitable for the whole family. Just remember to bring valid ID if you plan to enjoy the beer!
What's included with my ticket?
Your ticket includes entry to the 0.5K run/walk, event swag (t-shirt), beer for adults 21+, and the satisfaction of supporting local New Braunfels nonprofits. You'll also get access to vendor booths and the fun, community atmosphere. 
Where does the money go?
All proceeds from the Beer Run support the New Braunfels Jaycees' mission to give back to the community. Since 2017, we've donated over $195,000 to local nonprofits and community programs. The funds raised help support various causes including education, youth programs, community development, and local charitable organizations throughout New Braunfels.
Are pets allowed?

We love animals, but for the safety and comfort of all guests, pets are not permitted on the premises. Registered service animals are always welcome in accordance with ADA requirements.
